I know there are least a couple guys here that can tell me something about these. They were given to me the other day by a friend who knows I have a weakness for old junk.
The first two pics are of a 4 grooved, 60 cm long bayonet then when mounted looks like it would be offset from the barrel to the right. Only marks on it are serial number: 82441 and what might be a cross or a crown over an "S".
The second one came in a leather and brass scabbord. The marks on the blade can be seen in the photo and it also has a very large 1007 on the blade.
and on the scabbord it has:
broad arrow over W (I, E or ?) over crown over E over 7. and a 3 II on the piece that would engage the frog.
I would like to mount these crossed on a piece of wood and be able to relate thier history to visitors. ( I can't embellish unless I have some facts LOL)
If any one can give the basics that would be great. I suspect the broad arrowed one will look nice in a photo with my best webley
