jv, very nicely done. Something very familiar about that set up ;-)

If you find that shooting doesn't go as well as you would expect, free float the action.

If the block and action are not aligned, you will put a bending stress on the barrel. That might cause accuracy to not be as good (uncharted territory as blocked rifles usually have actions free floated).

Definitely let us know how it shoots.

Jerry...thanks for the inspiration :D. It is already freefloated. If you look closely at the pics I have the action up about 1/8th...look at the tang in some of my photos.

Wondered because you have that heavy recoil lug on the action. Again, no good if that is bedded into the stock or hitting anything.

Would be interested in getting one of those for myself. Can you pm me with contact info and costs?

I see that you were able to reinforce the stock where the back of the block sits. That should keep things from flexing.

Complete newb here , thanks for the photo essay . Explained a lot to me .
The barrel block , is that a boughten component or did you have it custom manufactured ?
