Has anyone here contacted the BC Chief Firearm's Officer within the last month or so?

I found several websites (government and non-government) that list the telephone number for the BC CFO as 604 586-2562, however, it says the number is not assigned when I call it.

Anyone have a different number for the CFO's office here in BC?

If you call the 1-800-731-4000 number and push the options to get an ATT the call usually rings through to your local CFO's office.

I tried that exactly 30 minutes ago and sent me to an answering machine asking me to leave everything up to and including my first born after the beep - to be responded to 5 days later

for the last month or two i have been dialing the 1-800 number and using extension #9530 which put me directly to the BC CFO office

now whether you get someone to pick up the phone is a different story

if i left a message they would call back within a few hours every time

So called earlier, left a message and just got a call back.

They said my license was approved on the 30th, but that there is a mandatory 15 day waiting period from that day (???) (it's been well over 28 days since they've received the application) - which I've seen someone else mention somewhere in here.

Anyway, since they are printed and mailed from Ottawa I guess I can expect to have it by the end of the month.

Sorry to bring back an old tread. But do you need a file number or anything to call the CFO? My apps been like 60 days and want to know whats going on and the CFC won't say anything other than that it's with the CFO. It's just for non-res pal..

Thanks guys!!

Just provide the standard stuff, first, last, address, etc. and they can look it up.

My son (18 yrs) sent his in Feb. and still hasn't seen a damn thing. He has called many times and the last time he was basically told if you keep calling it will be sent to the bottom of the pile.
there excuse is that they are very busy but I suspect my son only being 18 they are taking there sweet time with his.

No he has never been in trouble and he has had his CORE since he was 10

well mine said that last friday and still hasnt been printed :((((
let me know when yours arrives.

I have always had positive dealings with them. I am polite, respectful and patient and they appreciate that and tend to push things through a little quicker. The only problems I have encountered are when the Centre in Miramichi lose the paperwork after BC approves it. Recently, BC approved the transfer of a restricted firearm within a day and it was lost in the Centre for a month. I actually received apologies from both offices.

Ya, I havent had any problems with the CFC or the CFO. As long as your polite they are usually pretty good.

Hopefully they print it pretty quick!
