BC Coyote Hunting

coyotes

Try Sumas prairie between Abbotsford and Chilliwack. Permission for coyotes should be no problem on the dairy farms. set up in the blackberries and call. shotgun only.

do you guys use a shotgun or a .22 to hunt coyotes? Newb question...I know :p

.22's far too little gun, and shotguns in populated areas. Normally, I use the following:

.260 Remington
.243 Winchester
.218 Bee
.22-250 AI soon (got the rifle, haven't hunted it yet)
7.62x39
12 guage with 00 buckshot

It all depends on where you're hunting though. We have big 'yotes out here in the west too, so perhaps it's different back east, etc.

We have big yotes in downtown Vancouver! My wife almost hit one near 33rd and Fraser yesterday. That would have left a dent.

Ain't that the truth, I was surprised by the size of one I saw at just off Oak St above Broadway, I thought it was a domestic dog at first and I've done a good deal of coyote hunting... After I got a good look though it was straight coyote, just well fed, I imagine the poodles in the area have a short life expectency.

Thanks for the info - 33rd and Fraser it is!;) Actually, I think I will try Merritt, see if I have any luck
