Just as an FYI, I'll share my experience.
I went to buy my BC hunters license on Saturday, I checked online first and saw that:
"Starting Spring 2017, there will be no more paper licenses required".
All licenses can/will be issued online, species tags are still required to be carried.
So I bought my license online......then noticed that tags will require a delivery (mailing) time of 1-2 weeks. It said if tags are required sooner, then please visit a Service BC office or local hunting shop to have them issued.
I went to a local shop here and was informed that they won't have "online tags" until May 15th.... go to Service BC.
So I went to Service BC and after waiting 45 mins, was told that they don't have tags yet either (3-4 weeks).
If I needed a tag sooner, I would have to purchase a paper license and they would issue me a tag for it.
I said Uh, No.......After some more wasted time, "transistional protocol" was consulted and they just issued me a "no-charge" paper license that I then paid for the tag.
To summarize,
If you need a tag sooner than 1-2 weeks..... for the next couple months just go buy a standard paper license. The lady did say they are in short supply because of the transition.
