Well, my dad and I both got shut out on LEH this year 0/10... so our original plans to just go for whatever tag we got isn't an option. Also, my grandfather is coming out from Ontario, and this will probably be the only time he gets to hunt BC.

We'll probably have 5-7 days. We have a truck/camper for accomodations, and a towed 4x4 for getting around. None of us are up to too much heavy hiking due to various health reasons. Success isn't the number one priority for the trip, having a good time, hopefully getting to see some game at least, and getting my grandfather to see some really nice country is what we're after. Meat would be great too tho.

Hopefully no more than 1 days (can be a long day tho) from Vancouver area. Moose/elk hunting preferred.

Any and all ideas appreciated!

Head to the Kootneys then for Elk Moose are more work and way up North. Castelgar , cranbrook places like that and then talk to some locals you may get some help thee from them on a good place to hunt there

If you head to the Kootenay's I would make it the East Kootenay's. The West Kootenay's tends to be allot of hiking and road closures. I worked harder getting my elk out of the bush last year on my W.Koots elk hunt that I have on any moose hunt. With lots of road closures and such and lots of the areas are LEH for Elk. Its a tough hunt if your not familiar with the area. Still there is some very good areas to hunt Elk in GOS but with not being able to hike to much it would really limit you.

I do not know the area but there is a GOS for Elk in 8-15 I believe plus if I am not mistaken there is a spike fork moose season as well. That might be something to check out..
