so let's try this again. last summer was just too short of notice for most folks but i received a lot of p.m.'s requesting an event for this year.... so I'll throw the idea out there once again
JULY 9/10 , 2011 , 2 day M14 Clinic, Forest Grove, B.C. (google map it) 5.5 hours from vancouver. Those who wish to drive up the friday, no worries, we can accomodate you from friday to monday...... or anytime for that matter
ample parking and camping area for at least 25 people. room for a couple rv's trucks n campers all good too.... tents no worries, tonnes of room. Vip's who help me organize this will get to stay in the comforts of thier own rooms in the house LOL
rifle range or crown land is mere minutes away...... like 15 mins or less
I will be taking my new fancy ass leupold range finder to one of the bench type clear cuts near my place and will be hoping to put ranged targets out to 400/500 meters.... we'll see how ambitious i get
The store around the corner has grocery and gas, liquor ect is within a couple minutes walk. We will have continous BBQ availlable so bring stuff you want to grill. I "might" fire up the pig roaster and throw some beast on a spit for saturday night...... we'll see how many people sign on for the clinic first
this will be a comprehensive 2 day event and we will be diving into the full scope of inspecting, tuning and discussing the merits and pitfalls of accessorizing and customizing the M14 family of rifles. then we will spend the next day on setting up the sights and blasting targets.
if everyone can go to a range before hand with thier stock rifles and keep some targets with the average groups with the ammo you use..... bring the same ammo and we will save the "after clinic" targets to compare to the before targets.
And lastly, this is an absolutely FREE event, bring your own cooler of refreshments and meals. there's no delivery pizza or anything here LOL ..... just the grocery/gas/liquor store round the corner Washrooms/shower/kitchen facilities will be availlable as well.
we have a legion here as well for those who like to visit those when you are on road trips they make great food too.
those who want to greyhound it here , I can arrange to have you picked up in 100 mile and delivered back to the bus station on the monday morning.
better bet would be to carpool with someone.
so..... let's form a list below and see where this goes. 2 people, 25 people...... however, i think if we get less than 10 confirmed...... i'll be taking that weekend to chase some salmon and halibut on the west coast
