BC Limited Entry Hunting Results

I would wager that those 2 people put in for very low odds hunts. Some draws are undersubscribed and everyone that enters wins. Usually they are in remote hard to access areas.
Every year I get questions from people asking about the best way to hunt a particular area in the Cariboo they drew. Usually when I suggest they start by purchasing a very large boat they seem to loose all interest ................

no more mailing. you have to check online. if your succesful. you get the papers mailed to you
not so bad this year
i put in for region 3 mulie doe , region 5 moose, region 7-20 zone a antlerless elk...... i got the elk draw only.
we never put in for group hunts but out of out 4 man hunting crew and one extra that will join us this year, we got:
2 region 5 bull draws , the two young fellas got the tags this year
3 region 7-20 zone a antlerless elk tags , the two young fellas and me
a region 2 mulie doe and a region 3 mulie doe.
so not so bad.
was my wife's first time in the LEH with a new hunter number (last oct) and she got nadda
, she's digusted with the LEH process too , considering her odds across the board for being drawn for moose in a 100+ tag opening should have been spot on.

Even you get a draw, it still means little. Wolves numbers are exploding. I was at 5-12 last year, I saw more wolf signs than the cattle's
Everything is getting more expensive except game hide. Trappers don't have the passion to go after wolves as before.

I shoot wolves on sight when hunting Moose or Elk [within the limits, of course]
But they are becoming a problem, no doubt about it.
I cannot complain about limited entry myself.
Since it began in 1979/80, I have put in for 5 or 6 draws each year.
Two years I have drawn zip, the rest I have drawn at least 1 animal.
This year it is a region 7A moose, thank you!
