I bought a older BC Miroku that is choked skeet/skeet. The gun is in quite nice shape but I'm not sure of the usefulness of the choke configuration and was thnking about getting choke tubes in it. I'm not sure if it's even possible and or if the cost would make it prohibitive . It was a snap decision to buy it at an auction and it may just get sold again. Interested in any opinions on the subject

BC Miroku are the same company that builds the Citori for Browning and they are of equal quality at a lower price. They are somewhat popular so if that configuration doesn't work for you, you would likely be best to sell it and find another that suits you. If it were even possible with this gun, choke threading on a double gun would be $200 min and then you have to buy chokes. BC miroku and Charles Daly Miroku O/U usually sell for between $5-800 depending on gauge and condition with the smaller gauges being worth even more. Sk/sk is nice for grouse and upland.

You can check Epps for pricing. Note that the subject guns do not have chrome lined barrels, so it is feasible to consider the choke tube install, albeit relatively expensive. Given that it has skeet chokes, you should try to make a determination of wear on the action, pivots etc. , as skeet guns tend to get shot a lot. Even if it appears to be in nice shape externally, it may still be on its last legs internally.

Usefulness? Well, for starters, skeet. Secondly, grouse. Third, ducks over decoys.

But yes, it would likely be a better idea to sell it to a skeet shooter as it is all set up for that and ready to go.
