Next big one is the Westcoast 400 in Vancouver, going to try to make out to more registered shoots this year. Anyone else shooting in BC and do a lot of shooters travel?

Also, anyone shoot in the states? Did you join NSCA?

Great fun in Courtenay, unregistered shoot.

If you wish to shoot in the US, you will need a passport of course, but you will also need a Form 6 NIA to take your firearms and ammunition into the US. The Form 6 is issued by the US BATF. Here is a link to Joe Potosky's web site. http://www.losttarget.com/form6.html If you go to this link, you can read all about it and it even has an interactive Form 6 application that you can fill in.

I live in BC and i have been shooting NSCA tournaments in Washington state for the last ten years. At the border you will also need a letter of invitation for every club you want to shoot at and only valid for a registered shoot. The border has been consistent in checking for an invitation letter and checking firearms' serial numbers.

There are in excess of 250 shooters in BC that are registered with CNSCA and at least that many more who shoot SC but not necessarily registered targets. About 170,000 registered targets thrown in BC last year. Many shooters do travel long distances to attend shoots. In talking tom some of them, traveling 10-12 hours or more to a shoot is not unusual. I understand the BC Provincials in Ft. St. John last year was very well attended and that is a long hike for most people in BC.

There is a BCSCA newsletter in circulation. I will post it once I figure out how to do it.

Thanks!! You just save many of us, a real big headache!!

I would like to start shooting sporting clays in BC but I will have to travel to do it. Where can I find a list of shoots to attend? I know Kamloops does a lot, is there anywhere further north towards PG that has a sporting clays setup?

I'd check the cnsca website calendar. It'll show you what shoots are upcoming.

Check out CNSCA the (Canadian National Sporting Clay Association) webpage and search BC events. There are plenty of events around PG.

I see Harrygun already directed you to the CNSCA.

Glad I can help. The (Lost Target Edition) of the Form 6 can be typed into, but you may need to open it in a different tab or in Adobe (.pdf) format. Once you have your Form 6 and plan to shoot in the USA, you need to get a shoot invitation from the club in the US. The invitation needs to have your name and address on it and cover the full time that you plan to be in the US.
