BC Tactical rail for SKS

That setup would be perfect. The mount is rock solid, just use a drop of blue loctite on each set screw and off you go. They fit well and dont interfere with cleaning so long as you use a small rds like the TRS.

Thats what I have on mine after getting some advice from gunnut Fyn. Works perfect. Although, if in a sticky situation hunting or whatever, if the red dot brakes, you have no backup sight. I added a techsight to mine. A little hit on the pin, off comes the BC tactical scout mount and you have a backup sight. You cant go co-witness though.

I'd have to say the B.C. Tac mount is the ONLY scope mount worth consideration unless you're prepared to tap your receiver.

I found that when I had this mount installed, it really messed up my cheek weld. I ended up slapping on a tacpro to compensate ... but in the end I took off the mount and cheek rest and went with tech sites as well.

I have a BC tactical mount with a vortex sparc.

It's awesome and holds zero - BUT seems no matter where I have it mounted on the small rail, the spent casings hit the sight. It's holding zero - but I'm not exactly sure how long it can stand up to the casing ejects.

I'm likely going to modify the ejection port, because I love the combo.

The TRS-25 is 25mm as opposed to 30mm for the SPARC. Have you considered mounting a smaller red dot?

i had the same problem, but was using the TRS. With in the first 10 shots a casing hit the glass on the dot and broke it. This was with the dot mounted all the way forward.

I have the same set up as well with the trs and agree its an awesome combo. supernova pretty much nailed it with the locktite, you WILL need it. I was having spent brass hit the sight body until I moved it all the way forward wich seems to be ok so far on my particular rifle.

Seems pretty hit or miss (no pun intended) with people having their spent casings hit their TRS-25. I'm starting to rethink this idea. Maybe Tech Sights are the way to go here on this one. Would love to get more people stating their TRS-25 is perfectly safe on the base from the casings (mounted as far forward as possible of course), would hate to blow all that $ and end up spending more $ later to buy the Tech Sights.

I've got 150 rounds through so far and nothing hit. I got one of the Marstar SKS's...Not saying it wont happen, but so far it hasnt...

Sorry to be a pain but when I looked through the scoping SKS sticky, I was'nt sure what mod you meant?
When using this mount with a TRS etc, does the optic become so high that you must pretty well use a Cheek piece or can it be comfortably used without one?

Post #60, pm me if you need help but it is very simple and works well.

I have a BC Tactical mount on my SKS and it is great. Rock solid and holds zero very well. Only problem i encountered is due to the position of the red dot, I ended up getting a few dings on my Aimpoint due to the ejected cases hitting it. i ended up doing the ejector mod and it now ejects at the 2'oclock position.

I don't have a TRS but my Aimpoint sits low enough I can still get an ok cheek weld.
