BCRA matches require a BCRA membership. You are shooting on DND property and the insurance is a must. If you do not think the view at Vokes is not worth the price of membership alone, Richard D. will personally refund your money.

Typical matches run about $60 or so. Mission matches have you take turns pulling targets, but the rest don't. Mission more than makes up for it with their excellent prizes though.

KT, I shoot at Kamloops and they don't need any special membership costs. People are great and the event is really well run. Not having to pull targets is a really nice feature.

I hope to get to Mission and/or Chilliwack for a match this season. Always wanted to see how badly my wind reading skills would be at 600m with the West Coast winds.

You will have alot of fun and learn ALOT in a very short period of time. However, with your magnum, wear and tear on the rifle and you is going to be very high. As long as your barrel doesn't overheat after shooting up to 15rds in 10mins or so, you will be fine.

Do bring the GF. Odds are she will have a great time....

Pretty much every match in Chilliwack and Kamloops has people camping out at the ranges and these become terrific social occasions where a great deal of stomach content is often departed.

Plus I always carry a vat of Liquid Nitrogen for Obtunded to cool his barrel in.....even though the vat reads "Hydrochloric Acid" just ignore it....it really is Liquid Nitrogen.
