Should be exempt, especially now that the limit is raised to $500.

ps. items generally aren't prohibited, they just don't fall under the $500 exemption if they're frames, barrels, etc. You can still get them from the US but they required licenced export.


edit: it wouldn't be considered a breech mechanism would it? hmmmm maybe it is restricted after all
 
Well I ordered it, worst case it won't make it to me and I'll get a refund... whatever... these ITAR rules are so vague it's getting annoying.

Since last spring 2013. Under $100. you don't need any paper work. Over $100 but less than $500. you need to fill out an end user agreement before they will release your order.

Mike, if the brand BCG you ordered can't be exported out of the US, they will remove it from your order before billing you. You SHOULD call the 1-800 number to verify which item can be exported on your shopping list to avoid disappointment. Not everything is properly labeled as "Cannot be shipped out of the USA".

Assuming he ordered it from Brownell's. If it doesn't go through it may also be that the mfr is not registered in which case you may need to choose a different brand. There is a list a registered manufacturers in the Brownells Exporting Tutotial thread.

You can also apply for an ITAR exemption on a per export or a per purchase order basis, but the cost of the application fee is not worth for just one or two items.
 
FYI

I asked Sandy recently for a current list of the companies that were approved for export and she replied that they could no longer provide that list.
Usually anything I'm unsure about I shoot her an email and ask before I place the order.

Don't trust the site with regards to what is 100% exportable and what's not. I've had items that were not tagged removed from my order. I'll say it again, if in doubt, call the 1-800 number (it's okay, they don't bite over the phone... just a nibble maybe) and get a direct answer. As Malice pointed out, if you're not in a rush, you can email the info address.
 
i just ordered and received a FailZero NiB BCG with hammer kit as well as some noveske and magpul bits from brownells - 0 issues (unless you count the 2 day delay for customs clearance)
 
Export permit applied thru brownells is only 10$. I have gotten complete upper, barrels,and triggers from brownells. Flash hider is a no go regardless of who and what makes

that's because they never lived there... the US is even more of a mess than here, by a large margin, Canada ok fine we need an att and we cant have concealed carry, bah look at the tax laws in the US! county, municipal, state and federal, wow what a frigging mess.

Obama acting towards firearms with non congress voted presidential orders? like wtf... That country is turning into a banana republic. Federal agencies ignoring the bill of rights. I'm not sure how that is different from OIC or maverick RCMP actions.

And if you happen to live in California, New York or any other place that have all the jobs, their gun laws are even worse than here!
