While I love my ar, I am not overly knowledgable yet on the AR platform. What makes a BCM or LMT bolt carrier better than say an armalite BCG (which is what I currently have). The only issue I have had is with norinco ammo sometimes I will get a click instead of a bang and still see the dimple from the firing pin hitting the primer (possibly a light strike or possibly just crappy primers. 9/10 times if I put the same round back in my ar it fires the second time.) Would an improved BCG help with this sort of issue? Does the BCG that you use effect the feel of the rifle in any functional way?

Thanks for any info you can provide.

im not 100% sure however i know the BCM and LMT as well as other BCG are HPT(High Pressure Tested) and MPI(Magnetic Particle Inspected)
to look for faults and insure you have a high quality bolt. Also probably machined to tigter tolerances, different materials etc. i think these things are more critical in a full auto AR-15 and since we cant shoot those anyways its not a big deal. my .02 anyways.

The issue you have is more the ammo your using than the make of bolt carrier your gun has. Many People have had issues with the hard primers in the Norc ammo. The .223 chambered boltgun guys have had the most problems. You might be better off switching to a stronger hammer spring if you insist on using the Norc ammo as a bolt carrier change will have little impact on your problem.

I personally would only shoot the Norc ammo in a 5.56 Nato spec gun and not a .223 spec gun! but that's just me others may feel different.
