BCL 102 and STAG 10

I met a guy at the gun club yesterday with a Stag in 6.5 and he said it was shooting just under an inch with factory ammo, and without even using a proper rear rest. I've heard similar sub- moa reports here on the forums. Quite remararkable really.. sub moa out of the box NR ar-10 for a reasonable price.

Honestly it mostly depends on who is behind the rifle. You cant trust accuracy reports from someone who isnt versed in shooting precision semi autos. Based on my experience with the BCL-102, I know it is capable of at least 1.5" groups with factory ammo. I have no experience with the Stag rifles. I would love to do a comparison review on them someday. But that is unlikely.

I sure can't complain about how my 6.5CM is doing so far. This is with Hornady Precision Hunter 143gr ELD-X. I will start load development next year as it will be tough to get it done before this years hunting season.

I am consistently under 1 moa with my 6.5 and 308 102's with handloads. I am by no means a excellent semi marksman but spent a lot of time behind them this year. Both have jp bcgs and shilen barrels.

Semi Auto AR platform rifles can be very accurate.

Glad to hear the Shilens are working well for you. Please send me some pics and range reports. I am sure many will enjoy seeing your results.

The AR platform has great potential to shoot very accurately.... really only limited by the quality of barrels and ammo most often used.

I was grouping.8 .9 with my S 10 , .308.
5 rnd groups at 100.

I don’t think either receiver makes any difference in accuracy .as it’s all in the barrel and trigger.

Also I don’t see Why anyone finds a semi harder to shoot accurately.
It’s all the same principle, aim, squeeze the trigger, repeat :)

Once you squeeze that trigger, it’s a done deal

Stag10 with a Faxon Pencil barrel, Lantac Dragon brake, factory trigger, front bi-pod only, Hirtenburg surplus ammo 1.5 to 2" with 5 shot groups. I'm admittedly not very good shot with semi autos. Love the weight of the rifle and accuracy is better then i expected.

I have both rilfes and my bcl102 is around 3 -4 moa with FGMM 168gr
Here is my stag 10 6.5cm ,factory SS barrel ,5shot grouping @100M, Bipod with home-made rear bag

Left target:FGMM 140gr Right target:Hornady SST 129gr

I can make 13 consecutive hits on a 3" plate at 400 yards, with my Stag 10S in 6.5 Creedmoor. That's with handloads that have been breathed on quite a bit - necks expanded with a mandrel, H4350 powder charge within 0.02 grains of 41.2, annealed Lapua cases, 140 grain ELD-M bullets, CCI benchrest primers.

Performs as well as a KAC SR-25 at 1/3 the cost.

My stock Win BCL102 308 shoots:
  • 2 MOA 5 shot groups with 150gr and 180gr Remington Core-Lokt ammo
  • 1.5 MOA 5 shot groups with Hornady 155gr Steel Match ammo
  • 0.75-1 MOA 5 shot groups with Federal, Hornady or Nosler 168gr Match ammo

I've had best results with Nosler 168gr Match ammo and Federal Gold Medal 175gr ammo.
Both of these will often produce 0.5 MOA 5 shot groups but the average is a bit over 0.75 MOA.

Interestingly, I've shot the same ammunition in Tikka T3x with a Cadex stock and get groups which are almost exactly 1/2 the size!
