I confirm that the SLR helix does fit, and use "dpms high" when ordering from slrrifleworks. The model is "308H-HELIX11.7ML" and order had "- Barrel Nut: AR10"


I put the 11.7" on my 102:

The thread needs to be armalite, 18 TPI. The height is similar to DPMS high.

But don't go out buying any DPMS high handguard. It needs to specify armalite thread.

maybe if we remind BCL for the 100th time they'll produce the spec manual so threads like this are not necessary.

And god damn, why did they put that stupid gap in the gen 2 upper?

they're going out of their way to make the rifles compatibility with standard parts as undesirable as possible. so you are forced to concede and buy more BCL.

I have sweated this decision myself for a while.....probably 3-4 pounds and some grey hair! Sorry, couldn’t resist. Thank you for those who posted what works.

Bump. Would love to hear from those who replaced their hand guard, how much weight it saved, ballpark cost, if there were any installation difficulties and see some pics if you've got them. Eagerly awaiting the 6.5 CM presale for these, but at the moment my most accurate rifle is a 7mm RM that comes in at 9lb 3oz fully loaded. Semi-auto is nice, but would love to get this down into the same weight range with magnified optic and ammo.

How did you order from SLR they immediately tell me they don't have any payment options for me because they don't ship to Canada.
