My barrel is on the way and my inner bubba is coming out. I have had dirty thoughts of sticking my upper between two pieces of wood I have also thought of using my magwell block. So before I do anything stupid can anyone point me I the direction of a vice block that will fit the 102? Will a standard ar10 clamshell work?

Or any first hand experience with doing this with out a reaction rod or clamshell. The more I read the more I see guys with their uppers with a block of wood on the rail and bottome side of the upper In a vice.

No guarantee but it'll be closer than the Gen 2. There is really no set standard for AR308 platforms anyhow and who knows what BCL has made in terms of some dimensions/specs. The reaction rod that fits the barrel extension is a safer bet if you want a guaranteed (almost) fit.
