There has been people looking for more info on the BCL Bronco .308 so I thought I’d share some first hand experience. I won’t get into specs cause that can be found online. I purchased the gun new 2 months ago. I was looking for a compact hunting rig I could stuff in my hiking pack along with other supplies and the Bronco fit the bill. I purchased the 12.5” barrel model with the collapsible stock. I fitted it with a 2-7x32 Bushnell 3200 Elite to keep things as compact as possible. The gun handles much better than expected. I wasn’t sure how the balance would be with such a short barrel but to my surprise, it proved to have a very good feel when shouldering. After adjusting the trigger from factory setting, it felt perfect…. No creep and very crisp break. The trigger guard is large enough to easily use insulated gloves while shooting, I appreciate that!! The bolt is super slick after cleaning it from the factory lube.
On my first outing with it, I set a target up at 100 yards and dialed the scope in. The ammunition I used definitely was not high end ( Fed blue box 180gr + Win power point 150gr). Both would shoot 1.25 - 1.75” with the Federals being the winner… not great but still a meat getter.
Today I tried some better ammunition ( Federal Terminal Ascent 175gr + Hornady Black 168gr ). Here are the results,

I only did 3 shot groups due to the price of ammo but this confirms to me that the Bronco will make a great black bear/deer gun for my up coming seasons.

Handy!

Happy to hear it handles and shoulders well, not just easy to shoot off the bench. Enjoy and good hunting!

Hahaha YMMV huh?

How's the blast off of that thing? Will you be wearing ear pro when you hunt?

I'd handled the 223 version and thought "cool" but yours must be lighter up front, less steel all the way down the inside of the barrel and all. Looking forward to hearing how it groups with other ammo, and more importantly, how it fills a freezer!

The muzzle blast is sensational lol!!. Truthfully, I was expecting it to be worse but it’s bad enough. It’s still has some weight upfront but doesn’t take away from the balance due to the barrel length . The shot cycle reminds me of my older .270 Kimber…. Directly into the shoulder. I have a newer Kimber in .270wsm. It’s skinnier up front and it lights off pretty hard…., the scope will bite you if you’re not careful.
