I'd take one in 7.62x39 or .300, no interest in a short barreled .223. But an FDE model with the 16.5" barrel would be pretty cool.

Still waiting for the .300BLK version to hit the streets. If these work and don't have issues, I'll pick up one of each in 5.56 and .300...if not, I'll probably go for Ruger Ranches instead.

Mine as well until I handled a cheap feeling scout rifle rifle with a cheap plastic stock and started pricing out a metal stock upgrade.

These are awesome rifles... Bought one sometime ago, 556 Bison, when they were going for 999$. Still a great rifle for the price.

Taking an AR magazine plus have a propriety higher capacity mag made the choice pretty easy. Going to be interesting to see what happens if they go after AR mags.....

The price seems in line with the quality and aftermarket trigger, the brake makes no sense..... linear comp out of the box would have been nice and anyone that can't handle the recoil could choose a break aka "loundner" of their own from the huge aftermarket.

The only other thing I would change is the shape of the magazine well at the front where one might put their hand for trail carry or support while shooting.... maybe it could have been a bit more ergonomic in that area for a hand hold. Something about the over all lines of the design looks a bit clumsy and heavy as well but I can't quite put my finger on it. The dual colour contrast between the different colours coming out now and the black parts helps ascetically. I wonder if the two colours is why the price went up on these?

The quick connect sling hole was a good idea for an easy single point sling mount
