I've been looking at the Gunfighter ambi CH, has anybody hear of a Mod A53, Mod A35, or any other mix/matched latch sizes? i.e. a large sized latch on one side and a small sized latch the other sized. I've looked/searched and I can't find anything on it, even as something coming down the pipe (my google-fu is not good). Has anybody else had better luck?

PS: I'm a lefty, and I only have 10 rounds experience with an AR-15. None of it with a Gunfighter CH (any size).

Badger ordance makes a lefty one with a large latch on the right side and a small one on the left. Wolverine was selling them a while ago.

I'm a lefty shooter and I love my Raptor ambi charging handle. It's larger on the right side to give clearance over the forward assist. It's easy to operate and works smoothly. No complaints here.

I'm seeing a trend that people are loving their Raptors. But please I'm looking for info on the Gunfighter CH.

PS: Thanks for the pic Trinimon, I really had to look to see the larger right side handle.

I must be a minority left handed shooter that thinks the oem charging handles work just fine.
If you grab it between index and middle finger as designed, what difference does it make which hand you grab it with?

For me, I'm a Magpul-orized, CoD playing guy, who wants to build his own 'combat' firearms (all my 1911 needs is to get the thumb safety fitted, and new grips). So a 'high speed, low drag' ambi charging handle is a 'must' (I use the term loosely).

But from my understanding, the modern/updated manual-of-arms is to use just your index finger (or index and thumb) to work the charging handle. Quicker, more efficient, and less fine motor movements needed.

Ok, well the latch is on the left and you are using your left hand, so even if you just wanted to rack it on one side (not recommended imho), the latch is set up perfectly from the get go. Using index and thumb would be no different than index and middle finger - virtually the same for either hand. Color me confused, but knock yourself out- whatever blows your hair back.

isn't it different because you are not stradling the T, but only grabbing the latch on one side,-if shooting on the weak hand side you would have to reach over.If you are left handed won't your hand be on the grip, and the right hand will use the charging handle?

Love these, been waiting a while for OST to get them in stock, did you just order it from Brownell's?

Bownells was sold out for the longest time and found another source that had them in stock on sale for $72. shipped. Couldn't say no to that. :)

No, if you are shooting lefty you shoulder and operate the charging handle with your left hand...as would a righty conversely shoulder and charge with their right hand.

I guess it depends on one's technique for working the system. If you're a range guy that's shooting paper all day, an ambi won't make a world of difference 'cause like you said, either hand can release the catch just as easily. If you're shooting competition and seconds count and depending on technique, you can use the palm of your support hand to work the charging handle (like doing a facepalm) to clear a jam etc without having to drop the gun from your stance and off target. Different strokes for different folks. Doesn't help that I'm a gear junkie looking for solutions to non-problems. :)
