This will be the first of hopefully many matches for the BC Precision Rifle League and will be held at the Nicola Valley Fish and Game Club on October 20th, 2018. This match will be held as a centrefire, PRS style match, that is designed to test competitors skill in improvised and challenging positions under a time limit. Expect targets anywhere from 10-650 yards, roughly 100 round count (probably less), 6-8 stages and not too much walking. As this match will be at the end of October, there may be snowfall an/or rain, so be prepared to be in those kind of conditions all day, we will run the match rain or shine!

For those of you that attended the beta match in June or the CRPS match in August, it will be a very similar event at the same location. For those of you that have never been to a match, this would be a great one to start at! There is lots of knowledge in this BC community and a lot of experience, so come out, ring some steel and have fun whilst challenging yourself and your gear.

$50 entry fee. No gear restrictions. PRS standard rules. No magnum calibers. Maximum caliber: .308". Maximum Muzzle Velocity: 3200 ft/s. Three divisions: Open (anything goes), Limited (223 and 308 only, consult PRS rulebook) and Gas Gun (semi auto, any caliber, AR is fine as we're at a range).

if you have any questions, ask me.

So, is it in true PRS format or bc precision format? Asking more for the beginners. What should one bring? Are ranges given or does one need a range finder? Tripod? I know there are lots of guys/gals that will have every piece of kit need to shoot any thing you could throw at them. But what basics does one need?

Leans more toward PRS format.

At the beta match in May we ranged the targets.Several people had rangefinders.

Thanks for asking! Skullboy is right and this will be more like a true PRS match and less like the BCRA's. For beginners, I would advise to not worry about the gear so much and just ensure that you have a rifle that you are comfortable with and have DOPE out to 500 or 600 yards. Every squad will have a seasoned competitor or two in it with a lot of gear, so there is no need to worry about bags, tripods and other accessories. For any stages where you will be required to shoot off of a tripod, the MD will have at least one provided. As for range finders, you are more than welcome to provide your own, but I will be doing a much better job of giving accurate ranges in the match booklet this match, so it's not required you bring your own.

Quick update: this match is capped at 50 shooters, and as of this morning we're at 29. Wow! Thanks for all the interest guys and girls, it's looking like this match will be sold out.

If you haven't gone ahead and signed up, I would highly recommend you do soon to get your spot, as once we hit 50, there are no more spots. Signup again is here: https://practiscore.com/bcprl-october-2018/register If you're already signed up AND HAVE NOT SQUADDED (because there are a handful of you out there that haven't yet), be sure to check your email and follow that squadding link. If you want, I can also just randomly squad un-squadded shooters so that we get a good mix. Either way, this is shaping up to be a great match with very even signups for all three divisions.

Thanks guys and girls!
Josh

6 spots left as of this morning.

WOW, that is outstanding... will be filled at 50 shooters.

Look forward to seeing everyone out there and have a great day ringing steel. There is a solid group for each division... Open, Tactical and Gas gun

If you ever wanted to try this game but didn't want to drive out of BC, this is your chance. Low key, fun stages, great shooting.

Everyone is learning so don't be shy.

Jerry
