- We will have 2 loaner .22 rifles for Sunday. People just need to email me at kamloopsrimfire@gmail.com to reserve one.

The NRL22 stages (of which there are 5) will be out to 200 yards maximum, however, the other stages typically run out to 400 or more!

A match within a match... wouldn't that be hard to US national points? My understanding is that NRL22 is out to 100yds... then there is NRL22X or something like that goes out further.

For the PRS points that shooters are working towards, what is the US NRL22 nationals format they are working towards?

So we are not exactly playing by NRL22 rules, but we have an understanding with Tyler, Lisa, Travis, Brit and the team at the NRL in which our shooters shoot our matches and we are able to send our top 5 to shoot in the finale (which is in Missouri this year)! Keep an eye out for announcements soon on that.

If we were US based, we would only submit the NRL22 stage scores for points, but we are not, so we track the whole match scores and submit our top 5 off of that.

As for the match format, historically the NRL22 course of fire was 100 yards and under, however, the have option #1 and option #2, which includes stages out to 200 yards (if you have the range) and any stage outside of that can be whatever you want! These matches are designed to encourage competitors to come out, have fun and compete at the highest level they are able to, in order to qualify for the NRL22 Finale in the USA, in which you'll shoot against the best in the world.

is this a typical bcprl match? i was surprised by the pistol portion

This is typical for the BCPRL match run in Pemberton, BC. Dave runs and awesome match that tests a variety of skill other than just trigger pulling, including; target acquisition, transitioning from your main gun to pistol/back-up rifle, range finding, target sequence memorization, etc.

As for the stage design, the match director (of which there are 3 of us now) will typically design all of their own stages using things that they build or the natural terrain they have at their disposal. Each match will have it's own, unique "flavor" and test a variety of skills! All of them typically simulate a high stress hunting or combat situation in which you have to build an improvised position and engage a certain amount of targets in a certain amount of time. They are not designed to be easy, but achievable! Most top level shooters will walk away hitting 60-90% of their shots for the day, whereas mid-pack shooters will hit 30-75% of their shots!

It's a great way to test your skills and learn new things other than sitting at a bench and punching paper :)

Awesome! These matches are similar in style to the PRS National match run by Ryan, but he's stepped back from those this year. These club level matches are a great way to come out and practice, Pemberton being the only one that incorporates pistol right now.

If you have any questions, be sure to email me at bcprecisionrifle@gmail.com !
