Be careful out there hunting

Got to be careful in the house as well. Recently, I missed the last step to my mancave, severely sprained my ankle, fell on a pile of deer antlers and broke a rib. God speed OP with you're recovery!

Sorry about your honker. If you're lucky in life, you get little lessons that only hurt a bit. I found out myself about "stored energy" in trees years ago while cutting wood. Dropped a bigger tree on some poplar saplings literally 2 inches across, and somewhere in the process one let loose and smacked me in the shoulder with a small branch across the ear. At least I didn't cry...much.:ROFLMAO:

Got some cracks in the face bones on right side also
Nothing to do but wait on them to heal
When I did it I new I had to get back to camp road cause my buddy’s were leaving to go hunting
When I met them on the road , there faces changed from happy to what the happened
I looks pretty bad with blood all over me and the quad
This is the tree that smoked me
And I new better but lack of judgment caused this

Going through heavy bush at my place, I often think that if I didn't wear glasses already I'd wear industrial safety glasses.
It can be a very unpredictable environment. Good ankle support boots are a must.

Laziness, even in a sxs with rops it’s a stupid idea. Least your humble enough maybe save someone from a similar bad decision

Most of the summer I’ll wear a full face winter helmet when travelling overgrown old logging roads and trails.

Man years ago hunting while quading. I did almost the same thing. Except I was lucky enough to duck it. Unfortunately, the hood to my new Sitka incinerator coat didn’t, it grabbed me by the neck, tore the hood more than half off and just about pulled me off the 700 grizz.

It was a wake up call for sure. I did avoid the hospital but not the seamstress… it was a $1000 coat!!!

Hoping you heal up quickly!

This is what do too! If I’m quading, I wear a full face Fox carbon fiber MX helmet. But when hunting, to be legal. I bought one of the cheapest “skull cap” helmets from Canadian tire. Painted it sand coloured then overlayed grass and leafs and painted it white. Works like a charm and is legal, and you can shoot with it on (not on the quad of course)….

Not to just be careful, but situational awareness...
The uptick is they will rebuild the nasal passages and you will be able to breathe better.
Short term pain for long term gain.
Takes a brave man to share the gruesomeness as a reminder to us all.
Speedy recovery and even a couple of cut tags later on too.

Be careful with Poplars and Aspens.

They rot from the inside.

I was cutting down a small one and it broke in half.

Top half missed my head but hit my arm.

I first thought : broken, but fortunately just a fat bruise.

Pine Trees are not as bad, but their branches are like spears and daggers.
