I shot this series for the first time last year and it was a lot of fun. Best day was 17 shooters showed up. Good to see that kind of turn out. For the first shot of the 100 yard relay, we each threw a loonie in a hat and each shooter fired their cold bore shot. Whoever was closest to the center got the pot. We did this for the 200 yard relay as well. Lunch was a BBQ. Very good. You can shoot both classes if you wanted. We were pretty much there for the day. This event was over around 4pm. A bit later when we had 17 shooters.
The way it works is this is a 3 shoot series. Depending on ability whoever wins the shoot gets a "buy in". Guarenteeing themselves a spot in the final three. This goes for both Factory and Custom class......so there should be 3 factory winners and three Custom winners.(one winner for each date per class) The 3 factory winners face off to see who wins the factory class and the same for the custom. Then there is a Final shoot off between the top factory shooter and the top custom shooter. Pride is the true prize but your name will go on a small plaque, which in turn is put on a Trophy that stays at the club. Benchrest equipment is not specifically required. But it sure helps. Some people chose to shoot off of a bi-pod and rear bag.
I hope some of the locals will find this interesting enough to come out and try. Lots of fun for everyone.
