It works for me. I got one for my Lee Enfield No.4 because I like to use the Cad-Technik scope mount, which puts the scope high, and I didn't want to make any permanent change to the wood, e.g. screwing on a No.4T replica cheekpiece. (I did use a replica T cheekpiece on another No.4, and that works great, I just didn't especially want to do it to this rifle, and the Beartooth kit was easier to get.)
And then I wanted to use sight-through rings on my Savage 24F combination, so that scope is rather high, too. There were enough pads left over from my original Beartooth kit that I only had to get a Beartooth buttstock shellcarrier for the Savage and use them with that.
