Becoming a left handed shooter because of left eye dominance

I shot left handed the entire time, with both eyes open, and experienced no fatigue, doubling, or other BS that could get in the way of an incredibly fun time. For someone who has gotten used to poor eyesight getting in the way, it felt like a revelation.

congrats..i know i felt the same...you wear glasses?

i'm tempted to give lefthand scattergunning a serious try converting myself, but pumping and loading feels foreign to me..and i dont have an issue with hitting what im pointing at...drills or clays

Yep pretty strong prescription. Up next is trying my fabarm left handed.

I see in your sig you're looking for a lefty tavor bolt. Any specific reason? I didn't have any issues with ejected brass hitting me when I shot mine left handed.

Just thought I would bump this thread and add that I have figured out why the brass bothered me, it is because I was shooting left handed "Isreali style" which brings the ejection port much closer in to your chin than the traditional "western" way of holding a firearm.

See TV-PressPass' video for reference!

Fair enough. As it happens, I picked up a LHB from SFRC! It was too tempting not to. Look for a video with TVPP in the nearish future on doing the full conversion.

Are you in calgary? :) I may just take you up on that! Thanks for the heads up on the ejector pin. Did you follow Lt Werner's instructions? Only thing I have left to get is a tavor barrel wrench.

I made a barrel wrench... so did TV... and no, I'm 2.5 to 3 hrs away... East of Red Deer by more than an hour.

I got a pin last night to fix my Tavor and went to the farm shop today to put my spring and ejector in and then the pin that holds it all together, my ejector slipped away and is long gone. I am officially screwed. Guess I will have to have to get ahold of North Sylva tomorrow. Hopefully I don't have to wait for parts from Isreal... :(

Welcome to the club lol! I'm right hand dominate but I run my ARs lefty my bolt actiona are right handed models but I dont much trouble working the action with my right hand. Now here's the zinger, I shoot pistol right hand but still using my left eye. .. weird.
