I am looking to get two Boyds stocks bedded for my Browning BBR rifles. I don't really want to under take this myself so I am looking for someone (gunsmith, gun shop,) that does this sort of thing in and around Salmon Arm-Vernon area.
One of the stocks fits really nice but the other seems to have the barrel channel not quite finished so I will be taking that up with Boyds but will still want rifle bedded. I am going to shoot the one that seems to fit well and see how it goes but as it is .300 mag it should be bedded as the factory stocks were bad for splitting in the wrist area. So does anybody have any one shop they recommend for this and how pleased were you with the work

Having done this myself, Youtube is your best friend as well as shoe polish. You can buy a 1 lb container of Devcon from Greggs Distributers or Acklands Granger and do this yourself for $60 for about 5 rifles instead of $150 for one rifle. There is also no greater feeling than waking up the next morning after you have glued your rifle together, to hammer on the action bolts and see the action/gun seperate leaving a beautiful dark great mold. Anyone that has done this themselves will second me on this.

I was hoping to not have to get into this. I know it is not all that difficult. But Being a recent retire and recovering from major health issues I just wanted to get this done by someone who knew what they were doing. I have everything I might need in the way of tools,(45 years as a HD tech.) but I lack the driving force for the tools as everything is Air and the small air compressors won't do it. Plus I guess you could say I have gotten lazy in the last year or so.
