Bedding a Browning Bar

What??? Am I missing something here? There is no stock under the action to bed to, and the forestock actually attaches to the barrel, making free floating rather difficult. You might want to rethink this...

I had a guy one day at the range tell me I should bed my rifle. I said, "but its a pump action". Undeterred he replied, "oh you should still bed it".

Just thought I'd throw that in there. :D

I have found that you tune your reloads for your bar and you can shrink your groups consideratly. If you don't reload, then you try different brands and different weight bullets till you get the groups you want. Shoot off a gun rest or bags for the groups.

I myself have found that many BARs repond favourably to loads of very slow powder. I tend to think the harmonics are more akin to longer power strokes and shoot much better. Usually I can get almost moa with loads like this (and from a sporting semi who would complain of needing more accuracy). Of course this tuning only works if your a handloader.
