I hope I have this in the correct forum. I couldn't decide if it belonged here or under gunsmithing. I'm building up my Stevens 200 and I've just bedded a one piece Farrell scope mount as per the manufacturer's instructions. It went very well although I think I need better quality Torx bits.

Now I have a question you folk might be able help me with. Now that the mount is bedded, I've taken it off to clean the release agent (shoe polish) off of the screws and the action. Now, do I use any oil, silicone, or other protectant on the action and the screws before I reinstall the mount? These areas are now free of all oil (I used alcohol to remove the release agent) and I'm curious about potential corrosion between the mount, frame and screws.

Also, is it necessary to use Lok-Tite for the mount screws? I have a torque wrench to tighten the screws to manufacturer's specs (20-25 inch pounds to 20-30 inch pounds).

Lastly, are there recommended torque values for the rings? I'm using Burris Signature Zee rings and so far I can't find any recommended values.

Cheers and thanks for the help.
