Can someone explain to me in very simple terms how I would go about bedding this 300wsm of mine.Or direct me to where I can find this info,it is a synthetic stock and stanless reciever and barrel.I have free floated the barrel. Thanks in advance.

If it is the factory plastic stock there is no advantage to bedding it. The same with Remington and other plastic stocks. They were all designed to simply tighten up the screws and bend the stock around the metal. If you were to bed an action in one of these stocks, you would have to float the sides of the action and then when the action is laying there without any screw tension, fill it up with epoxy. Then the problem will be getting the epoxy to stay in the plastic stock, because epoxies do not adhere to them. They do stick to the metal real well though.

Rugers have a curious bedding system - there is no immediate support of the action ahead of the lug - its provided by the forend tip. If you remove that support (ie free float the barrel), your left with a somewhat unstable support.
I'm curious - does the rifle shoot better after your modification?
