Will glass bedding take to a factory Win 70 synthetic stock? Had a smith tell me it would not hold and I'd be wasting my money? Seemed rather odd? Harold

It should. You'd have to rough up the inside first though. That ain't rocket science. Mind you, a lot depends on the material Winchester is using these days.

That's what I thought as well, but he didn't want to do it? I have a B+C synthetic done up on .308 NM/98 mauser and it's held up just fine.

It probably won't stick but if there are enough recesses, notches etc to lock onto the bedding it should work for you. If you can find a recycle logo on the inside of the stock it will tell you what kind of plastic it is. Just about any injection moulded plastic that is proof to organic solvents (like acetone) will not bond. Do some repeatable before and after shooting tests to see if you gained anything. B&C stocks are polyurethane foam on the inside and epoxy sticks great, a totally different plastic than the Win.
