bedding and change POI

I doubt he is going to get a custom barrel. he likes to plink a bit but is mainly a hunter. We were just curious if anyone has seen this before and wondered if an adjustment to the beddingmight solve the problem.

The only down side is that POI makes that shift everytime it gets warmed up after 10 or so rounds down the pipe. Then the POI stays the same and it groups well.
.

If the barrel stays put for 10rds, what you are you concerned about. That is fantastic for a factory barrel.

My magnum that moved, lasted 2 rds in the warmer temps. Made it to rd 4 in the fall (cooler).

LOL

Yeah it seems to be anywhere from 6-10 shots. Guess it depends how long the wait is between em.

Either way, it groups well but if we could solve this inconsistancy, it would be great shooting for a factory gun.

Ah yes, the eternal search for factory barrel accuracy.
Try bedding the forend and on the barrel ahead of the lug. A little less or more and back again with less pressure or more. It's all trial and error and back again. .5, .75, 1" or more bedding will all make slight differences or not. Try VooDoo. That worked for me once. Enjoy! ;)

Of course we all learned a long time ago that the effort and time spent to get a factory barrel shooting 1/2 MOA for 10 shots was better spent elsewhere, but it's your suffering.

Not my suffering, it's not my gun. I was just looking to see what people thought.

For myself, I would love a custom rig. Just not sure now is the right time financially to put that kind of money into a gun that won't get shot a whole hell of a lot.
