Bedding Pillers

I simply use a piece of aluminum and drill a hole in it. Rough grind a contour for the action. You should glass bed on top of it and that makes it perfect.

Or often I simply pour a pillar of bedding compound around a tapered action screw to locate it, and then drill the screw hole out after. Poured pillars work great.

Our pillars are made from 7075-t6 hex and we machine the pillar to match the diameter of the action to get a perfect fit. We normaly deal with custom actions which are actually round but even the Savage I did last week matched up nicely. If there is bedding between the action and pillar then why use a pillar? In our stocks pillars are not really needed but the customer is paying!
