What's the best way to remove old Acraglass bedding compound? Dremel tool? If so, what type of cutter/grinder tips do you use?
The old bedding job has softened and chipped out in parts. I also have aluminum pillars to install and was wondering how do you remove the partial steel pillar used in the front of single shot type stocks.

Thanks to others the butt is filled and am now working on adding spacers and reattaching the recoil pad on this bubba'd 40X stock.

Grind it, cut it with a gouge/chisel.. it's easy to work.

To remove an eschuteon use a punch at an angle from the top of the stock and work around the edge a little at a time. If you just drift it out it is easy to break out wood around the edge.

Thanks for your help guntech. Got the eschuteon out with a couple of chips that glued back nicely. That trick worked well, Indeed, had I driven it out hard the stock may have cracked. Lee Valley has some good chisels too.
