Bedding the M305

I just got my USGI fibreglass stock, I have filled in the selector cutout and built up the area for the recoil spring guide retaining pin.
I figure that this is a good time to bed the action, before I paint it.
I am looking for tips on how to do this properly, such as what type of bedding material you guys use, which areas to bed and which areas to avoid.
Any special tips?
A step by step proceedure would be great or a link to same.
