Yes, several times it works great follow instructions exactly or you will bond barrel to stock, NOT GOOD!!

QIWI netural shoe polish is the best release agent I have ever used, cheap, dries with a haze that is easy to see where it is, and works great, I once used the release agent supplied with my kit, but never again!

X2, also I see no point of paying $30 for couple of oz for inferior product when you can buy a 1lbs of Devcon for $60 or so and to have multiple use of it that will also last you a lot longer. My 2c....

I got Devcon Plastic Steel Putty (10110) from Century Vallen in Edmonton a couple of years ago. It was about $35 for a pound. It is about as good as you can get. I've bedded three guns and three sets of scope mounts, and have barely made a dent in the can. Here is some bedding info which gives some reasons for using it - rigid, strong, and very low shrinkage on curing.
