Bees Wax where to buy?

One of my buddys years ago used the sticks they use to cool off wheel bearings on railcars to lube bullets. Always wondered what it's made of. You can get beeswax from a craft store but it is in sheets to roll up to make candles so bricks of it would cut down on the cost and the work involved.

Galena. I've found it at antique and gun shows in the past but have yet to use it for anything. Some day...

Try a local Hutterite colony if you have any nearby, I got some from one about 12 years ago from a colony about 20 minutes east of Winnipeg. Can`t remember what I paid but I know it would be less than a candle shop. I think some colonies specialize in different things so if one says no, don`t be afraid to ask who might be a bee keeping colony.

Ya, go on the net. Lots and lots of suppliers that will ship. Buy a Kilo at a time, will last U quite a long time. I mix 50/50 Tender Flake vegetable shortening and Bees wax for my 54 caliber patched round balls. The lube is so good my patches when recovered are not even scorched. I could use em again. Accuracy is excellent.
