Now that belongs on a WW sniping gun!!! May be a German sniping gun, do your self a favour and dont sell it or sell it to me !!LOL.
You have a gem there, find a same era sniper gun and mount it up and you will have a show piece.

What does it date? 1925s??
PS if you do mount it on a sniping rifle make sute the bolt throw is ok for the scope somethimes there not!

not sure of date- the link has date of ads for scope in 1939
not sure if that is year came out our - just that is latest ads he has?

Saskabush ....ya....only in Manitoba.

I live here now and I am always shocked at how no one knows what is going on out there............................................

hithere not included....you obviously know you have something that is a bit rare. Don't sell to the first bidder!

Does the scope being mounted on the barrel have any effect on accuracy??
The scope is mounted in spring tensioned pillow blocks, and it moves on recoil.
This is a classic RTB (return to battery" scope.
The recoil spring in the front is supposed to bring the scope back into battery after the shot.
Most all the oldtimers always backed the spring off and pulled the scope back into battery position manually.
It will throw a bullet right out of the group however, if you forget!

The turrets are basiclly micrometer thimbles mounted on the rear pillow block.
I have severel like this scope, an old Belding and Mull, three Unertls, a Tasco ( YUP!) , and a Lyman Super targetspot.
They are accurate, some are difficult to adjust, but the cool factor is outtasight!:D
This is the tasco ( it actually just went to new owner!)

The Lyman in its factory box. This scope was usede by C.I.L. for field testing.

Here is a Unertl on my 950T long range rifle in 300WSM .
The fact that they slide enables a person to put one of these scope on any caliber of rifle due to the lack of recoil!

I have a Fecker, mid '30s, with this sort of mount. I wonder if PH actually made scopes, or if they were retailing ones made for them?

The Old Man has a Unertl on his 219 Donaldson Wasp. One of the first centrefires I ever shot.

Now THAT is a CLASSIC COMBINATION!!

Old jJhn Unertl was a good friend of Harvey Donaldson, and with him was one of the founding fathers of modern benchrest, ( among others)

I have some very early pictures of them....

There is a chance a move in the future- and they tend to cost-
something will have to be moved- anyone know value of scope??
will have to let both go as package as gun is tapped only for this scope not others.
thnks

I have paid about an average of $400 for my Unertls, and the lymans generally run about the same monmey, so I would hazard a guess at $400 without being able to actually take a look at it.
