Beginners holster for IDPA

Depending on what gun you have - Uncle Mike's; or buy it right first time - Blade Tech.
Blade Tech holsters are very good quality and value as even used one can still be sold for half of its price or even more.

1911 of course, you mean people shoot other things:D:D (without the comp of course)

Comp-tac is nice but a bit pricy. The budget blade-tech holsters will do A-OK - should be less than $50, YMMV - this is a killer deal right now:

I love my comp-tac, but when I don't want to use an iwb I use a 20.00 kydex fobus I got off ebay. I also shoot a 1911.

Are you sure that will fit in the box with that Mag in it?

If the Mag is weighted it's not legal for IDPA.

i wouldn't be worry about the mag, but I'm sure many would have a problem with the Compensator on the front of it :D

but i don't see a problem with it :)

Duh!! When the picture was taken, the 1911 was set up for IPSC shooting. I have read the IDPA rule book. I realize that I require a different base for the mag. It now looks like this in .45, .400 CorBon and .22

Garand the only thing you will regret in shooting is buying a cheap holster to start with. You have a very nice 1911, get yourself a Blade Tech/Comp Tec kydex holster with a matching double mag pouch. Get a 13/4" wilderness belt or very good stiff leather 1 3/4" belt tp go with the set.

The money you spend will be well worth it and you will be set for life. Many here, including me, have a box of holsters in the basement that were bought because they were cheap and we wanted to save money.

Take Care

I have two holsters from Penner Custom Leather that I'm pretty satisfied with. I don't know if he is still in business, though, as the website is down.

Dillon also sells a line of holsters that are made by Mitch Rosen.
