I won't even begin to say this hunt had anything to do with skill on my part. I had a good friend help me get this bird in real close. I almost blew it because I wasn't in proper shooting position and when I shouldered my shotgun the bird almost took off but he hesitated a second too long and I managed to get a shot off.
I used to think turkey hunting wasn't my thing but I can say for sure now that I'm hooked.
His beard measured 10 1/2'' and he weighed 26lbs on a fish scale I had in the truck . I am not sure how accurate that scale is but he sure looked like a big bird to me!!
