With that particular scope (4x16x40 4200) you're good for about 600 yards. Just mount it and start looking for the best load. Your scope has 40 moa of adjustment. When mounted on flat bases and centered, you have about 20 moa to go up and 20 moa to go down. Your 100 yard zero will sit pretty close to the middle of your vertical adjustment range if everything is set up properly. At 600 yards your come ups on your scope will be about 13 to 14 moa. Very doable with this scope.
If you plan on shooting beyond 600 yards, you will need either a canted base or Burris Signature offset rings. These devices will lower your 100 yard zero so that you have more room for adjustments up at longer ranges.
As for ammo, don't shoot 168SMK's beyond 800 yards.
