A bunch of years back, Browning had some wood that was cured with salt. It caused a bunch of issues, mostly severe pitting between the stock wood and the action abd the underside of the barrel.
Google for Browning Salt wood, and you can see what that is about.

Other than getting used to a different motion to rack the bolt, I've never heard anyone say anything bad about one, Know of a couple that are never gonna be for sale, either, if that tells you anything.
