Bought this shotgun at an auction, cost a grand total of $118.
It is an example of an economy gun of the time, say 1870 - 1890. Has a buttplate, a bridled back action lock and an under rib, but no hook breech or forend cap. 36" barrel, but small bore, about .56; say 26 gauge. Light and handy.
It looked to be in respectable condition, couple of minor wood defects - a crack at the forend tip, and a chip beside the tang.
Bore wiped out, looked good.
Had it out this morning for testing. It is certainly a good 25 yard small game gun. Patterns with 3/4 oz, appropriate charge of FFg were acceptable. Once the shrubbery clears out a bit, I'll have it out for grouse.
