Hello fellow gun enthusiast (Or however you spell that). Well, to my question at hand.

I've been planning on building myself a new rifle, already getting a 700 SPS tactical, not the best gun ever but it satisfies the role that it will be used for. Anyways, I have been looking at possible stocks and one in particular struck me as just what I need. The Bell and Carlson A5 medalist.

Problem is I cant find a seller for it in Canada, if they even sell this thing in Canada. I could easily get from the states but that isn't actually legal as far as I know and I wouldn't want to risk crossing the border with this in my trunk.

Anyone know where I can find this particular stock or something strickingly similar?

Btw, posted this in the precision section because I wasn't quite sure were to put it.

I went through Alberta Tactical Rifle Supply. I also chose the SPS Tactical and love the combination

Don't sell the SPS short either. Many a great rifle starts with the Rem 700 action. You are already improving the weakest component by replacing the Hogue.

Were could I get said barrel exactly? I'm kinda new to precision shooting.

The houge stock is nothing great, but it ani't horrible either and will not make you shoot and better or worse. A B&C stock won't make it worse either, its just no better than a houge IMO, other than it is better setup for shooting prone and the flat forearm will ride a bag better.

I will send you a PM for a guy I trust that will fit your rifle with a precision match barrel in whatever caliber you want. He is not a site sponsor yet so I'll stick to the PM until he is.

Yikes!!!....I didn't realize B&C weren't getting out of the States these days.

Peanut, have you tried the Hogue? :)....I couldn't wait to get it off. However, with that said a match barrel is my next upgrade

I am not going to pretend to be an expert in Houge stocks, but the key to accuracy in any 700 platform is the barrel.

All stocks should be pillar bedded for top accuracy potential, even McMillian. So other than that, yes forarm stiffness, rigidity, strength are all important, but won't make a HUGE difference on paper.

My point is a barrel is the better investment, than a stock.
