I need to find someone in Canada who can get in Bell and Carlson stocks. I would really like to throw one on my 700.
Just got back from the range (nice rainy day) Took out my first 100 round of reloads. Put a round in the chamber and held my breath.... WOW. I'm using a Hornady 52gr HPBT Match, 25gr of H335 and CCI primers. This is my first rifle and I'm on a budget. Remington 700 sps Varmint .223 1/10 twist. ( I know a 30 cal. will be next)
.52 @ 100m 1.2 @ 200m
I can't believe the difference in the hand loads to factory ammo. And my first batch!!!
Anyway...as you can tell I'm a little excited!!! haha.
The only thing I really don't like about this 700, (besides the the twist rate) is the cheap plastic stock it comes with. Ive got a Harris 6x9 BRM Bi pod on the front, and even giving moderate cheek pressure on the comb will make the whole stock twist...LOL It's not even worth bedding in my opinion. But can I really complain for $500?
