ARGH... my old EMS duty belt no longer fits me. :( It was 2" and stiff leather so never moved. I went to several uniform shops in the city and nobody has them any more.

I tried a buddy's nylon "tacticool" belt but they are garbage. They move too much even with keepers.

How are the competition grade belts. Are they stiff enough to prevent too much movement when unholstering? I usually use an inner as I can't stand using keepers. Any info would be appreciated since there is only 5 weeks to the provincials.

High Noon Holsters sells a really nice belt, sewn laminated with a proprietary stiffener inside. They're out of Florida. I wear mine all the time, with or without holster. Google them.

The one and three quarter inch Wilderness belt is often seen at IDPA events. Great belt that I wear all the time. Certainly for belt holster use it as good a belt as you can buy. There are knock offs that sell for less. I hve the original so my comments relate to the original only. I use a two piece for IPSC only because the rules allow it. For IDPA the belt cannot be two piece and must go through the belt loops.

Take Care

Thanks for the recommendations. After reading here and then checking a few locally at uniform shops and the two gun clubs, I was able to get a deal on a Safariland inner and two outers (for production & standard) from my club.

They seem to be as stiff as the CR and others I took a look at and the price couldn't be beat. Still wish they made my cheap, clunky and extra HD locally made leather EMS duty belt but had to go with what was available. Not as stiff but almost as good. :)
