Not sure if this question has come up. (Maybe this belongs in Reloading) I am looking for my next rifle/calibre. The question is, from an accuracy perspective is one case design more accurate than the other. What are the pros and cons of each design.

The only advantage I can think of is trivial, and is for fireforming. Since it headspaces on the belt, there's no need to worry about shoulder location, seating a bullet hard into the rifling, etc.

No disadvantages IMO - at least that I can think of.

I would go with a non belted bc it seems that all modern cases are going that way and there must be a good reason for it ... Unless you are going for a more millitary style in the 300 win mag I say a new rifle deserves a modern cartridge my fav is the 338 rum , lapua performance without the hyped up cost of anything lapua

Only major difference is if you shoot the case a bunch at elevated pressures, the belted case will develop a bulge infront of the belt that is very difficult to remove. Toss brass as the best option.

A well cut chamber to properly support this area will resolve this problem BUT will likely require a custom reamer.

Otherwise, they do the same thing, are loaded the same way and provide the same result.
