Beltfeds

Yeah Vector arms was producing Semi auto versions of the RPD in the States.

I'd much prefer to get a chinese clone however for cost reasons. I'm sure norinco could produce them easy enough, they would just need to realise the potential market here, which I'm sure is respectable in size.

I mean honestly who in their right mind who owns guns wouldnt want an RPD, they have kicks ass all over them.

I would so be hunting deer with mine.

You saw the RPK, totally different firearm.

Additionally, the RPD is belt fed but the RPK is magazine fed (uses standard AK magazines and drums).

Ahh of course. Thank you.

so would a semi RPD be legal???

I don't see why not, we can own mg42's, mg34's M2's and so on. The RPD is not listed on the ban list. I think after a mountain of paper work of course it would be good to go.

But who knows, maybe it'll burn the rcmp's arse a little to much and they would give us the royal f**k. hard to say.

yes legal BUT limited to 5rnds

several years ago I enquired with the fine folks at the rcmp weapons techs, NOT the no nothings at the cfc

and the RCMP considers the RPD to be post 1945 and so limited to 5rnds

and we all know the rcmp run the gun show and there is no fighting them unless you have HUGE $$$ to spend......

Do we have approved mg42's here in canada aside from John's 2 prototypes @ marstar?

May as well use this opportunity to update on my build :D. She's done! Well function wise, still need to throw on the sights and tripod mounts.

Gotta test fire as soon as i can muster up enough cash to buy some belts and ammo lol. Then get her all approved with the cfc.

Just to clear this up for everyone.

It was designed before 1945, so there would be NO belt limit

It is NOT an AK variant and is not pohibited by name, so aslong as it was produced on a semi-auto reciever, it shouldnt be prohibited

Getting them approved by the RCMP and approved for export/ import is the challenge to obtaining these

Id love to get one though!:D

Browning BMG 1919A6

A guy around Quebec city has this gun advertised for 2 months on "lespac dot com". Full equipped for 6500$.

Good luck in your quest!

It was designed in 1945 but the RCMP don't care they consider it a post 45' design, the only way to change such is import semi auto clip 6 rounds together and fire in front of RCMP then proceed to challenge it in court.

Norinco should be able to make a Semi Auto M1919 for around $1500?
