I would like to know what you precision shooters are using as a bech rest to sight in your firearms. I myself have been looking for a Sinclair bench rest with no luck. I am using at this moment an older Hoppes front rest and a rear bag. I know there is something better on the market and would like to know what it is and where can I get one. It will be strickly used to sight in my hunting rigs [no competion] and also weight is a non factor
Thanks
Danny

Best bang for your buck is the caldwell BR rest and a protector rear bag. Sinclair makes a really nice rest too, you just buy them from Sinclair they can still ship those from the states.

It has nothing to do with sighting in a rifle though. If I am just sighting in a rifle I use a bi-pod or anything for that matter. Precision shooting needs precision equipment.

I use the same equipment I use for my competitive shooting, Rempel Bi-Pod and Protektor rear bag.

For just sighting in you can any rest you have available, no specialized equipment required.

I would use nothing fancy. If your rifle is to be shot free-hand while hunting, don't clamp a bunch of crap on the gun to sight it in since is does affect POI to a degree.

Nothing wrong with the Caldwell shooting bags. Cheap, effective, and easy to use.

For messing around and sighting in I have the Caldwell Rock rest.

But I've also used everything from a camera bag, to a tool box to a harris bipod.

For serious work I have a sinclair bipod.

my mom cut up some old pairs of jeans and used the legs as sand bags, thats all i ever shoot off of. works great and is cheap
