I'm told Varget is best for the 60 gr. + bullets when loading for .223.

Question is, what is best for 50-55 grains?

I looked over the hodgon catalouge, and narrowed it down to H322 or Benchmark. Which one would work better?

There is NO BEST powder that universally will shoot well in everyones rifle, H335 is a very popular powder for 223, as is Varget as is quite a few others. Benchmark may work real well in your rifle, or it may perform poorly, only one way to find out. FS

agreed!
mine likes varget, imr3031, imr4895. and i'm sure sure many others.

Benchmark all the way, works well in many calibers and is easy to meter through powder measures. I use it in .223, 22-250, .308, 444, 45/70....
